7 Kinds Of Smoke Competition BBQ Team was created in 2007 by Carter Catering
Company's Executive Chef and Owner Phil Carter and his passion for great BBQ. By
enlisting family and friends the team was born.

For the last two years, the team has competed in over a dozen competitions and has
won an equal amount of awards including 1st Place Ribs, 1st Place Chicken, and 1st
Place Tri-Tip! The team finished their rookie season placing 4th Overall Chicken
(1st Place among rookie teams) and 12th Overall Brisket in the state of California!!*

Carter Catering Company featuring 7 Kinds Of Smoke BBQ Restaurant was created
to provide Southern California with the experience of competition quality BBQ.
Competition BBQ is much different than your ordinary street fare of maybe some
salt & pepper and a vinegary sauce that is prevalent in Southern California.

7 Kinds Of Smoke uses a different spice combination, or rub, along with a mix of
flavorful hardwoods for each meat to bring out the true flavors of great BBQ. The
meat is then glazed with a matching BBQ sauce to enhance, not mask, the flavors.
This is BBQ you can enjoy wet (with sauce) or dry (without sauce).  

We use only fresh, quality meats and produce for our extraordinary foods. From
our tender ribs and brisket to our savory beans and salads, you can expect fresh
and delicious food. Our meats are slow cooked for up to 14 hours using the same
pits we use for competitions, so you know your getting great, wood smoked meat!  
Our sides are made fresh daily and with the health conscious in mind.
